Mosque is the most important base in Islam which has played its significant role from the grand prophet of Islam’s Era in religious education of Muslims. A mosque which is both temple and school and its prayers are the priors of heaven according to the narrations. So, mosque is the best place for religious creation of personality.
We can find two elements of education which first one is environment and second one is parents. Your children move on religion way if these two elements are joined suitably together. So we can find the best kind of education in a moral environment and by a spiritual method.
Role of parents in education of children
Parents play the most important role in educating their children. Those parents who have a compiled and comprehensive educational program even before birth of their child. They pray inspiring the verses of holy Quran: “ ( رَبِّ هَبْ لِی مِنْ لَدُنْکَ ذُرِّیَّةً طَیِّبَةً إِنَّکَ سَمِیعُ الدُّعاء»(آل عمران،٣٨ “
Or pray for their orphans to become a believer: ( رَبِ اجْعَلْنِی مُقِیمَ الصَّلاةِ وَ مِنْ ذُرِّیَّتِی رَبَّنا وَ تَقَبَّلْ دُعاء (ابراهیم،٤٠
Maybe the most affective factor in education of children is parents. Regarding the emotional relation between mother and her child, she is the most effective element in education of children.
Women in mosque:
Presence of the wife of the grand prophet of Islam as the first Muslim woman, in congregational prayer is obvious. We are witness to presence of women in congregational prayer along their men in the beginning years in history of Islam. The grand prophet of Islam ordered to not restrict women for going to mosque and continues that let women go to mosque for night prayer. He recommended women to protect themselves by hijab on way of mosque:
« یا أَیُّهَا النَّبِیُّ قُلْ لِأَزْواجِکَ وَ بَناتِکَ وَ نِساءِ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ یُدْنِینَ عَلَیْهِنَّ مِنْ جَلَابِیبِهِنَ ذلِکَ أَدْنى أَنْ یُعْرَفْنَ فَلا یُؤْذَیْنَ وَ کانَ اللَّهُ غَفُوراً رَحِیماً »(احزاب، ٥٩).
The history of Islam and manner of the grand prophet of Islam also show the social activities of women especially in mosques.
Religious education of children
Mothers who pursue religious education for their children look for a suitable environment for them. Even she throw a comprehensive educational program for her child before birth. We find some case in holy Quran such as Maria’s mother who vows to take her into service in mosque. When child grows up in religious manner, the others enjoy her education and wish to have like this child. It reminds Zachariah who asked God to bestow him a child, like Maria when he met her.
When mothers attended mosques along their orphans, the grand prophet of Islam welcomed their presence and ended prayer faster because of a mother whose child was crying.
It is a good job for mothers persuade their children to go to mosque and ask them to quote the good points they learned in mosques for their parents. Imam Hassan (regards upon to him) attended mosque when he was seven years old and memorized the grand prophet’s words to quote for his mother.
The narrator of Fadakiah narration was Zeinab (God’s regards upon to her) who quotes the words of her innocent mother when she was only five years old. She memorized this narration and quoted for next generations after her mother. Mothers like grand Zeinab talked to the cruel militants of Yazid in front of their children and the others to reveal their oppressions. Imam Baqir(best regards upon to him), was educated in such school who could give a lecture in front of cruel militants after Ashoura event and compare them with Pharaoh and told them that you are in spite of the Pharaoh and his counselor’s vote who let Moses and Aron to talk before execution. But you don’t let us talk and it has just a reason. Yazid asked him about the cause and he answered: because Pharaoh was born from a noble mother. Nobody kills prophets and their grandchildren except baseborn ones. Then Yazid ashamed and ordered to stop execution of the Grand prophet of Islam’s grandchildren. This is the symbol of right religious education who saves, disgraces and enlightens.
